Terms
How a project works, in plain terms.
- What you are buying
- A package as described on the page on the day you book it: Website from €2,950, with no VAT to add, with the pages, weeks and inclusions listed there and the exact figure for your project agreed in writing before you book; or Studio, scoped and priced in writing per project. Care is a monthly service. Each project starts with a one-page written scope that we both agree before any money moves.
- Payment
- Website is paid in full when you book; that payment holds the weeks in the calendar. Studio is paid in stages set out in its written scope. Care is billed monthly in advance, twelve months minimum, then cancellable any month.
- The grant
- The Trading Online Voucher is paid by your Local Enterprise Office to you, after you have paid me in full and submitted the paperwork. I supply the quote and everything they ask for and help you with the application, but approval is theirs, not mine, and the project price does not depend on it.
- The weeks
- Four weeks for Website, and the timeline agreed in a Studio scope, assume you send text, images and feedback within two working days of my asking. If that slips, the finish date slips with it, and I tell you the new date the same day.
- Revisions and the guarantee
- At First Look you see the homepage designed and written. If you do not like the direction, everything you have paid comes back in full. If you take the refund that is where it ends: the design, the words and the files stay with me and nothing transfers to you, so you are back where you started, minus nothing. If you continue, you send all your feedback within three working days and I apply it in one pass. Website includes one round; a Studio scope sets its own. Changes after sign-off are quoted before I make them.
- Content
- I write the copy from our call and your intake form; the facts, fees and claims are yours to confirm. Photography direction means I tell you what to shoot and how; the shoot itself is arranged and paid for by you unless the scope says otherwise.
- Ownership
- The site is built on your own domain, with the account in your name. From launch you own it and can edit it, move it or hand it to someone else. I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio and to say I made it, in a line at the foot of the site that you can ask me to remove.
- After launch
- Thirty days of fixes are included for anything I got wrong. Care covers hosting, edits within two working days, monitoring and one improvement each quarter for as long as you keep it. Without Care the site keeps working; you are simply on your own for changes.
- Ending early
- You can stop at any stage. Work completed to that point is paid for at the proportion of the package it represents, and you keep everything made so far. If I have to stop, you pay only for stages delivered and I hand over the files.
- The small print
- This page is a plain description of how I work, not a contract; the scope we both sign is. Irish law applies. Questions to hello@softwrites.com.
